Countertop ..Tear Out Risk Disclosure
Tearing out granite, or other countertop materials to prepare for installation of new countertops materials does include some risk. Please be advised that you the home owner are assuming some risks involved during the tear out process.
When a granite countertop or other countertop material are installed, they are installed as a permanent solution. During the tear out process, the countertop and cabinets under go a lot of stress. Sometimes this results in breaking, chipping or cracking of the countertop and possibly disruption and possible braking of cabinets at weak points. Removal of countertops may reveal cabinet issues.
Prior to the tear out visit:
Any plumbing & countertop integrated electrical needs to be disconnected. Gas needs be disconnected and any cook top (drop in) stoves need to be removed. Appliances need to be removed from the work area. Access to and from the work area needs to be free of obstacles.
In addition, Granite Works, LLC. cannot be held responsible for any patchwork to Cabinets, wallpaper, tile, Spackle, trim, mirrors etc; that may be required after the tear out of the old countertop. We accept no responsibility for the integrity of the cabinets or any knee walls after removal of old counters.
